Low-cost gateways,
sensor data on your own server.

For startups and IoT companies, makers of sensors and gateways, and monitoring-platform and SI companies that run sensors in the field. Put the software on the gateways you already have, or on low-cost general-purpose ones. Define on a screen what to read and where to send it, apply it the same way to many devices, and see their status on one screen.

Screens

How you manage it

Real console screens captured with sample data.

Gateway list with power status, last connection and applied settings
See at a glance whether a gateway is on, when it last connected, and which settings are applied.
Sound familiar?

When something breaks, everyone points somewhere else

Sensor supplierProvides the sensors
"The sensor sent its values fine. Please check the gateway."
Gateway supplierProvides the devices
"The device is on. It may be a server or settings problem."
Our server teamCollects the data
"No values are arriving. We can't tell what state the device in the field is in."

Flowset puts it all on one screen

See which devices are on, which settings were applied, and whether sensor values are being sent, all on the same screen.

Ways to use it

Three ways to start, depending on your company

  • Startups, IoT companies and freelance developers

Grow sensor collection on low-cost gateways

Instead of expensive dedicated devices, put the software on low-cost general-purpose gateways (OpenWrt). Send sensor values the way your customer's server expects, and repeat it the same way when the customer changes. We can help with the hardware too.

  • Hardware makers

Built in, shipped under your name

Put the Flowset agent on the OpenWrt-based gateways you make and ship them under your own name.

  • Monitoring platforms and SI companies

One bridge for the devices in the field

Different gateways and sensors are turned into one format and sent straight to your server. For devices already installed, only software is added.

How it works

Four steps

  1. 01

    Choose a gateway

Pick the device you already use, or a low-cost general-purpose OpenWrt gateway.

  2. 02

Set what to read and where to send it

On screen, choose which values to read from which sensors and where to send them. This setting is called a Flowset.

  3. 03

    Get the install file

We build the install file (firmware) for the device and settings you chose. Install it on the gateway and you are done.

  4. 04

    Manage everything on one screen

See whether devices are on, whether settings are current, and whether data is going out. When a sensor or the receiving server's format changes, change the settings and apply them to a few devices first. No reinstall needed.

Features

Only what you need

Define how sensors are read, as settings

Choose on screen which sensor signals to read as which values and where to send them. Signed settings go down to the gateway and are applied, with no new development for each customer.

Manage devices on one screen

Check power status and applied settings, and handle new-device approval, naming rules, permissions and change history in one place.

Install files with your name, staged updates

Build install files that carry your company name right from the screen, and roll out updates in steps: 5% → 25% → 50% → 100%. It stops automatically if many fail.

Data goes straight to your server

Sensor values go from the gateway directly to your server. We do not store them, and you do not need to open ports or set up a VPN.

Connect to sensors and readComing soon

Define each sensor's own way of talking in the same settings, and the gateway reads values from the sensor.

Remote sensor firmware updatesComing soon

Send software to sensors in the field through the gateway. No one has to travel to the site.

Is it a fit?

Who it helps

It helps if

  • You have dozens of gateways or more in the field, or will soon
  • You use Bluetooth sensors and want the values on your own server
  • Building a new integration for each customer takes a lot of time
  • You want to grow sensor collection with low-cost gateways instead of expensive dedicated devices
  • You are a hardware maker that needs gateway management software under your own name

It may not fit if

  • Your devices cannot run OpenWrt (we check whether it is possible first)
  • Your sensors are mainly not Bluetooth (LoRa, Modbus, etc.)
  • You want to store, analyze and show sensor values on dashboards in one package

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which gateways can I use?

Devices that run OpenWrt (an operating system common on routers and gateways), or can be made to run it. You can add just the software to devices you already use. That is the default, and any hardware is arranged after a conversation.

Which sensors can I use?

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) sensors. Each sensor connects differently, so we start with the sensors you use.

Do you store sensor data on your servers?

No. The gateway sends it straight to your server, and Flowset only manages device status.

I am a hardware maker. Can I ship under my own brand?

Yes. We build install files that carry your company name and settings. We check first which devices and chips support it.

How much does it cost?

We have not decided yet. We will decide together after seeing how you use it.
